Joel McKee Home

345 North Batavia Avenue

The Italianate-style home located at 345 North Batavia Avenue was built in 1852 for one of Batavia’s earliest settlers, Joel McKee. This home was one of the earliest examples of the Italianate design in the area. It was also somewhat influential on the local housing market, as several more homes were built before the Civil War with this architecture. Mr. McKee was influential as well; he was involved with starting many businesses in Batavia, including a general store and a mill.
